Ski area Grands Montets
Welcome to the Mecca of skiing!
Located between 1,235 and 2,800 meters, the Grands Montets ski area offers breathtaking vertical drops and “grand-scale” skiing right next to the glaciers. This is where skiing is experienced on a massive scale.
A major first milestone: the new Grands Montets comes to life this winter—for the 2026 Christmas holidays, the new 10-person gondola connecting Argentière to Lognan will begin service. In Lognan, visitors will also discover the new access hall at the base area, new dining options—a brasserie and an electric bike rental—as well as public restrooms.
The second phase, scheduled for the 2027–2028 winter season, will mark the project’s culmination with the opening of the new 3S detachable cable car, connecting Lognan to the summit of Grands Montets at an altitude of over 3,000 meters. More comfortable and offering better wind resistance, this new facility will restore access to the summit by ski lift, which has been suspended since the 2018 fire.
