The Tré-les-Eaux Valley

in Vallorcine
Presentation

A hike through a natural mountain circus at the foot of Le Buet and the Tre-les-Eaux glacier. Beautiful flowers in June and July.

Take either the Loriaz path or the forest track to the hamlet of Les Granges
(1,566 m). Leave these two paths behind on your right and take the trail on your
left between the houses, which ascends across the slope below Les Cornes de
Loriaz, and takes you over a rocky projection. A gentle path downwards with one tricky section (with pitons and wire ropes), leading to the banks torrent down in the valley. Follow the path until you reach an altitude of 1,990 m and the entrance to the gorge.
Time required to head back down — 2 hours following the same route back or via a steep path (pitons and wire ropes) on your right, directly below Les Cornes de Loriaz. This follows the streams of Chie des Coins, Tre-les-Eaux and la Meuniere and brings you back to the village of Le Couteray via Sur-le-Rocher.
