Environment
Chamonix, an exceptional environment to preserve
Majestic, grandiose, unique... there's no shortage of superlatives to describe the Chamonix Valley and the mythical peaks that shape it. A land of legends past and future, the preservation of this natural jewel is more than ever an integral consideration in all our actions.
The Chamonix Mont Blanc Valley has been committed to the energy transition for many years: 1st Territorial Climate Energy Plan in the mountains in 2012, labeled a Positive Energy Territory at regional level since 2015, a Positive Energy Territory for Green Growth (TEPcv) at national level since 2016, awarded the Green Snowflake label since 2013... These are just some of the initiatives that demonstrate our region's particular commitment to environmental and climate concerns.
90% of the valley's territory is protected under the Espaces Naturels law, and since 2012, the Chamonix Valley has been one of the Communities of Communes involved in the Atmosphere Protection Plan for the Arve Valley.
The Convention Bureau of the Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley Tourist Office and its local partners are part of this initiative to protect the environment and raise awareness among their customers.

* Accommodation : give preference to establishments that have implemented eco-responsible actions.
