Road Conditions and Mont-Blanc Tunnel Information

  • Please note: During the summer season, traffic through the tunnel is very heavy. Be sure to check the traffic forecasts on the Mont Blanc Tunnel’s official website to plan your trip as effectively as possible!
  • From November 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027, passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and motorhomes must:
    • either carry metal or fabric snow chains in the trunk, sufficient to fit at least two drive wheels;
    • or be equipped with four winter tires.

LA POYA SAFETY WORKS – RD1506 Access to ARGENTIÈRE, VALLORCINE AND SWITZERLAND

As part of the safety works at LA POYA (RD1506), several traffic management phases are planned:

ROAD CLOSED FROM 7 TO 11 SEPTEMBER 2026:

  • From 8:30 am to 12:00 pm
  • From 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm
  • Outside these hours, traffic will operate under an alternating one-way traffic system.

FROM 11 SEPTEMBER 2026 AT 4:30 PM TO 20 NOVEMBER 2026 AT 4:00 PM:
Traffic will operate under an automatic alternating one-way traffic system.
This traffic management system will remain in place every day, including weekends and public holidays.
We recommend planning your journeys in advance and following the road signs in place.
Thank you for your understanding and patience throughout the duration of the works.

Impacts on Bus Services

🚌 Service Disruptions

Line 2
Line 2 will terminate at the “Les Praz-Flégère” bus stop:

  • from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

The “Les Bois” and “Les Tines” stops will not be served.

Line 5 – School Transport
The 8:15 am departure from Le Buet on Line 5 will operate as scheduled for schoolchildren.

However, on-request transport (TAD) bookings will not be available during the following periods:

  • from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm
  • and from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

🚐 Shuttle Bus Service in the Upper part of the valley

To ensure continued transport services, a shuttle bus will operate between the “Le Lavancher” and “Le Tour” stops.
