A very pleasant walk through the cool of the woods at first, then above the tree line with magnificent views of the glaciers, the Aiguilles de Chamonix, Mont Blanc and the Grand Balcon Nord.
From Point I, cross Le Grépon car park towards the ski jump and head for the start of the trail. Take the path on your right and follow it through the
forest and across gullies up to where it meets the forest track coming from Les
Molliasses. Cross over this track, passing under the lift cables; leave behind the path to Le Pré du Rocher on your left. Keep going up through the forest to Plan du Trois, then head on up to the refuge, passing between some large boulders.
Snack bar near the ski-lift station. Private refuge on arrival: food, dormitories.
You can use the ski lift to make your way back down. Alternative starting point at Les Pelerins.
