Once a simple village, Chamonix has become the world capital of skiing and mountaineering in the space of 300 years. This walk takes you along little-traveled paths or streets in the valley floor, where you can admire most of the surrounding peaks, each of which has a story to tell: victories, dramas, sometimes love stories, not to mention some surprising anecdotes.
