Presentation

A ride on the Mont-Blanc Tramway is a pretext for adventure... Discover a variety of alpines landscapes along the journey and some of the most views from the top. More than a simple excursion, a true discovery !

In winter, it takes pedestrians and skiers to the Plateau de Bellevue (1800 m) and the ski area of Les Houches for the pleasure of a most picturesque walk and the grandeur of an exceptional panorama.

In summer, it takes you as far as the Nid d'Aigle. Please note: following renovation work this summer (2024), the train will only run up to Mont Lachat. Take the cogwheel train for an effortless assault on the summits. Jeanne, Marie or Anne will take you to the gates of the high mountains, to the delight of your eyes... and your legs!

Special winter info
The highest cog railway in France awaits you for a wonderful journey at the foot of Mont Blanc.
Leaving from Le Fayet or Saint-Gervais, it allows skiers and walkers, at the end of a route through forests and mountain pastures, to access the Plateau de Bellevue (1,900 m) and the Les Houches / Saint-Gervais ski area, in the heart of an exceptional panorama (panoramic view on the Bionnassay glacier).

New this winter: discover the 4 new engines inspired by their predecessors, including Marguerite, the latest born, now present alongside Jeanne, Anne, and Marie, names of the daughters of the founder of the TMB operating company.
Special summer info
A trip on the Tramway du Mont-Blanc is THE pretext for multiple escapades...
The TMB, as it's known here, gives you access to an extraordinary panorama. It's the gateway to a host of itineraries, some of which open the doors to the high mountains. Whether for a family outing or a sporty getaway, there's every reason to take this legendary cogwheel train. Contemplating the panorama will leave you with unforgettable memories.
But that's not the only reason to take this cogwheel train, because along the way it reveals all the diversity and variety of our mountain landscapes.
More than just an excursion, a true exploration!

Mountain bikes are accepted on the TMB only on the 1st train, and on the last three.

Special mountaineering info:

Access to the Nid d'Aigle is reserved for mountaineers with a refuge reservation.
Trains specially dedicated to mountaineers planning to climb Mont Blanc via the normal Goûter route will run according to the following timetable from the opening date to October 1, 2024:
- On the ascent, 3 trains per day departing from Le Fayet at 7am, 12pm and 3pm.
- On the way down, 3 trains a day depart from Le Nid d'Aigle at 8.10am, 1.10pm and 4.10pm.
Handicap
The Tramway du Mont Blanc welcomes wheelchairs on all its trains.
Beware: 1 wheel chair per train only.
No access possible from the station "Parc Thermal" (thermal bath) in Le Fayet for people with reduced mobility, but it is very easy from Saint-Gervais.
It is recommanded for people with reduced mobility to get off in Col de Voza to enjoy the view, rather than go further: this is indeed very difficult to get off in Bellevue (and impossible in Mont Lachat in summer).
People with disabilities should book several days in advance by sending an email at caisses.tmb@compagniedumonblanc.fr. Tickets will be then bought at the cash desk in St-Gervais (or Le Fayet). If the person with disabilities comes with some other people, it will be possible to book for all of them. Of course, the 50% reduction will only apply to the person with disabilities and one person who accompanies him/her (when showing up with the handicap card).
In summer, it is possible to go on the mountain bike slopes which go down to Les Houches and then go back up with Prarion cable car (warning: you need then another pass).
