Fête des Guides -Soirée films Espace EMC2 Chamonix

Created in 1924 to generate financial support for the Chamonix guides’ relief fund, the “Fête des Guides” has become one of the major yearly events of the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc valley.

An evening of film and discussion.

8.30pm: ‘Les Lumières de Vallot’, a film in tribute to Joseph Vallot, which highlights the scientific research being carried out in the massif, highlighting the collaboration between guides and scientists from the past to the present day.
‘L'ascension du Mont Blanc’, an old silent film by Vallot, combining period landscapes and striking silhouettes, accompanied live by cellist Florian Laforge in the tradition of Maurice Baquet.
