Practical training in mountain rescue and medicine
A 3-day course, combining ski touring and mountain rescue techniques, to make progress in snow-covered terrain, learn life-saving techniques, anticipate risks and learn how to deal with the unexpected.
In the mountains, in winter even more than in summer, every minute counts: the cold accentuates the risks and demands rapid, effective care. This course prepares you to act appropriately in real-life conditions, to gain greater autonomy and responsiveness during winter outings.
On the program: avalanche safety (3×3 method, route selection, DVA search and rescue, rescue techniques: care and evacuation of an injured person, winter survival (bivouac, choice of equipment), mountain medicine (lectures on cold and altitude medicine), ski touring: uphill progression, off-piste techniques.
This course is supervised by expert doctors and Ifremmont mountain guides.
Prerequisites: good physical condition, previous ski touring experience, ability to walk and ski several hours a day in the mountains.
From Saturday 21 to Monday 23 March 2026.
