Hike to Charousse
This old Alpine pasture is made up of five farms. The original pasture has been restored yet still bears the signs of a bygone pastoral age. It is a beautiful site offering views of the Aiguilles de Chamonix and the Chaîne des Fiz.
From the Prarion-Les Chavants parking lot, go to the building of the municipal daycare and tennis courts. Go up the road of S'Nailles on your left towards the Côte des Chavants. This road crosses the typical hamlets of Les Chavants, then goes through the village of Les Chavants.
The Alpage de Charousse, a testimony of the pastoral history and the mountain architecture.
Located on impressive glacial polis which form the base of the Mont-Blanc Massif and the Aiguilles Rouges, the Charousse mountain pasture is a magnificent place which benefits from an exceptional view on the Mont-Blanc Massif.

A little historical focus:
In 1926, the architect Albert Laprade fell under the spell of this mountain pasture. He bought one of the chalets and above all a large number of traditional objects and furniture that he bequeathed to the commune of Les Houches. This collection is visible in the mountain museum of Les Houches.
