Battle of the queens

9:30 am: start of the fights

The aim of the game for the breeders is to get the Queen! Cows are sorted by age and weight. The local match offers a maujons category (young, non-pregnant cows), heifers (pregnant but never calved) and three "adult cow" categories: light, medium and heavy.
Cows who don't know each other systematically want to know which of the two will be the leader. We don't force them to fight. If one of them refuses to fight, she's submitting to the other.
Each category brings out its Queen. Its owner then wins a beautiful bell, made in Chamonix by Devouassoud or in the Swiss Valais (by Vaquin, Anivier, etc.) or in the Val d'Aoste; the leather is always beautifully decorated with shiny nails and other colorful designs.
