Danse - Chotto Desh
In 2011, choreographer Akram Khan created his internationally acclaimed solo DESH. With the help of director Sue Buckmaster, he has created a new version for young audiences, entitled Chotto Desh. Akram Khan, born in Great Britain and
whose parents come from Bangladesh, recalls his childhood memories and the journey that led him to adulthood. It's a tale of initiation and epic proportions, about life in a society where very different cultures live side by side. This inventive tale blends traditional Kathak dance with more contemporary movements. Using computer-generated images, Chotto Desh is a magical show: The dancer climbs to the treetops, plays with an elephant and butterflies, sails on marvellous boats... A show that blends dance, video, text and sound with unparalleled talent... With Chotto Desh, the British choreographer who has collaborated with some of the greatest names, from Peter Brook to Juliette Binoche, continues to break down the barriers of dance with this choreographic gem for young and old alike.
