Ice is a major component of the "cryosphere", but while the great mountain glaciers and polar ice caps are fairly well known, much lesser-known ice can be found in the steep rock faces of high mountains ("ice aprons") and in medium to low-altitude karst caves ("glaciers"). We'll set out to discover these extreme ices and uncover some of their secrets.
