Meeting with Dominique Potard for her book Tout schuss
ALL SCHUSS! MÉMOIRES D'UN BERLINGOT AMNÉSIQUE Mountain guide and inveterate skier, writer Dominique Potard shares his memories of the mountains in a series of hilarious short stories.
Dominique Potard, author of the sparkling Port de la Mer de Glace, now a 7-part saga, could have chosen to write his memoirs: his life as a Chamonix guide, adept at "extreme" skiing among other adventures, would have more than filled the jug. But with Potard, the tone and style make the man (and the dialogues). So it's in the form of short, lively scenes, as if in a boulevard theater, that he revisits his memories, from his first thrills as a teenage climber.
Ah, the subtitle? "Berlingot, because I grew up in Carpentras. Amnesiac, because all climbers are. As soon as they miraculously come down from the peaks, they have only one idea in mind: to get back up there."
