Visite guidée de l'exposition : L'euphorie des montagnes
In this tour of the exhibition, come and discover André Contamine's enthusiastic and passionate view of mountaineering in the 1950s and 1960s, through a selection of nearly 150 photographs.
Close to the great figures of his time, at the forefront of techniques and always on the lookout for new routes, André Contamine was a master for a whole generation of mountaineers. To share his passion for the mountains, he chose photography as his preferred means of expression.
This exhibition was conceived by the Maison de la Mémoire et du Patrimoine and the Archives municipales de Chamonix, in partnership with Gilles Modica, journalist and writer specializing in the history of mountaineering.
