Presentation

An interactive workshop to imagine the future of the Alps in the face of climate change.

The mountains are a formidable terrain of intelligence: that of ecosystems, local knowledge, natural dynamics... and also that which we must mobilize in the face of climate change.
The Mountain Fresco is a rigorous, interactive, and accessible workshop for all, to decipher the scientific mechanisms of climate change in the Alps and collectively imagine transition trajectories for our high-altitude territories.

In two and a half hours, you will explore the physical foundations of climate change, its impacts on biodiversity, resources, natural hazards, and even economic life in the mountains. Through a card game based on scientific data, the cause-and-effect relationships are gradually revealed, then transposed into prospective scenarios: what could the mountains be like in 2050? And what choices must we make today to shape this future?

A workshop mobilizing multiple intelligences (scientific, civic, emotional, collective) to understand, discuss, and act on the challenges of climate change in the mountains.

Developed by Educ’alpes, Juliette Dané, and Nicolas Boillot, the Mountain Fresco is a tool resulting from a collaborative approach involving scientists, educators, and Alpine stakeholders.
