Beyond the Frame with Evolution 2
In the Valley, you can ski your whole life without ever taking the same run twice. Especially if you’re out with the Evolution 2 team of high-mountain guides…
Mountain Safety Course: The Basics
Soft, carpet-like snow, views overlooking the glaciers, dizzying elevation drops, long, panoramic runs… In the Valley, off-piste skiing cuts you off from the world. And that’s precisely why it’s essential to go with a guide and master the basics of high-mountain safety. Evolution 2 offers half-day courses to learn (or review) the essentials: reading the snowpack, assessing avalanche risks, managing a rescue, and handling rescue gear and equipment in a glacial environment… The kind of hands-on training you always hope will remain purely theoretical.
Ski Guiding: A No-Brainer
For those who want a personalized day but can’t be bothered to organize it! The pros at Evolution 2 will tailor an itinerary perfectly suited to your preferences and pace, away from the crowds, off the marked trails—but not too far off. Whether you’re seeking pure enjoyment within your comfort zone or a bit of challenge and adventure, they’ll take you places you wouldn’t go on your own. No repeat experiences—just that rare feeling of experiencing the mountains like a local.
Magic Spot Course: Hidden Gems
Prerequisite: You must already have solid off-piste experience. Because from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., it’s going to be intense. Evolution 2’s Magic Spot course runs for one to three days. No endless lessons—your guide takes you on their favorite runs straight to the point. Or rather, straight to the spot—the one that doesn’t appear on the trail map, and that you might even have a hard time finding on postcards. In small groups of up to 6 people, whether you’re skiing or snowboarding, enjoy pure riding sessions on the best of the Chamonix Valley.
Vallée Blanche: the legendary once-in-a-lifetime descent
As you exit the Aiguille du Midi cable car, the immensity of Mont Blanc is intimidating. And at the end of the tunnel, a sign reads “crampons required.” You cross the ridge on foot, with just the right amount of vertigo at an altitude of 3,842 meters, with Chamonix 2,800 meters below. Once you pass through the gate—which makes it unmistakably clear that beyond it, the slopes are no longer groomed—your Evolution 2 high-mountain guide will give the go-ahead and lead the descent from start to finish. Over 20 km of glacier freeriding, masterful turns that’ll really put your edges to the test, and variations to suit every preference: steep, challenging terrain or gentler slopes and bumps. Not sure of your skill level yet? Start with the “Vallée Blanche Test” session. Technical progress and peace of mind guaranteed.
