It's Showtime in the Valley
In winter, the Valley isn’t just a vertical playground—it also knows how to put on a show. Each spot has its own style, its own rhythm, and its own crowd.
EMC2: the small venue with big shows
EMC2—it sounds like Einstein’s equation for the equivalence of mass and energy… And we’re almost there. In Chamonix, beneath the massive building with its igloo-style roofs, lies an intimate venue where you can experience live performances up close. The lineup is a blast every season: eclectic concerts, electrifying film-concert hybrids, dance, comedy, shows for young audiences… The cultural department of the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc town hall, which runs the show, has just as much fun as its audience. You can see it, you can hear it, and it’s a joy to experience. Take, for example, Matrioshka Productions’ “Romeo & Juliet,” performed during the 24–25 season, which let the audience choose who would play each role—resulting in a play with 5,040 possible combinations.

La Maison des Artistes: Good Energy, Good Vibes
Following a call for projects launched in March 2013 and spearheaded by composer André Manoukian, the famous Villa de la Tournette has become the must-visit Maison des Artistes: an artist-in-residence program dedicated to contemporary musical creation, complete with its own recording studio. With cozy armchairs, soft lighting, and a warm, intimate atmosphere, the bar-café feels just like being at a friend’s house. But friends who’ve turned their living room into a hub for music lovers, where their incredibly talented friends gather to host evenings of live concerts, jam sessions, and sometimes even stand-up comedy.

La Folie Douce: Delusions of Grandeur
In this lively, festive venue, everything is a show: the decor alone is wildly creative, and almost every night starting at 7 p.m., the famous processions lead you from the lobby to the Janssen Cocktail Club. Don’t expect a stiff, ice-cold catwalk-style fashion show—instead, imagine a lively performance by high-energy artists (in platform shoes) who storm onto the scene in flowing tulle, glitter, sequins, and drag queen makeup. The evening continues at 9:30 p.m. at La Petite Cuisine restaurant, with a top-notch cabaret dinner and breathtaking aerial acts. Dizzying!
