Conference: How's the snow this winter? Meeting with Météo France Chamonix
With the team from Météo France Chamonix, let's take stock of this early winter, in terms of snow cover and avalanche risk.
See you on Monday February 3, 8pm, at ENSA.
We're all delighted with this fine January snowfall, much better than the two previous years when buckets of water, not snow, fell on our heads! Winters come and go, but they don't resemble each other, giving each year a very different snowpack stability, and a variety of avalanche problems.
With the team from Météo France Chamonix, let's take stock of this early winter, in terms of snow cover and avalanche risk. Météo France's snow experts try to answer this question every day, by publishing the most accurate BERA - bulletin d'estimation du risque d'avalanche - possible.
At this meeting, they'll take you behind the scenes to explain how a BERA is produced, and you'll find out more about the state of the snowpack in the 24/25 ski season.
