Outing: High-altitude ponds need your help
Author: Timothé Gattiglio, nature organizer.
As part of the CIMaE international research project on high-altitude wetlands, come and visit a fragile ecosystem with remarkable biodiversity by taking part in this outing in the Balme sector.
This outing will help you understand why mountain ponds, fragile ecosystems with remarkable biodiversity, need to be explored. Led by one of the members of the international research project dedicated to the study and protection of high-altitude wetlands (CIMaE), this outing in the Balme-Posettes sector above the village of Le Tour will introduce you to the biodiversity of a high-altitude pond and raise your awareness of the threats facing these environments. You'll also learn about the CIMAE (Climatic Impact on Mountain Aquatic Ecosystems) participatory science program, so you can become involved in preserving these environments on future mountain outings.
