Guided tour of Chamonix's former palaces and hotels

in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
Presentation

An opportunity to discover Chamonix's hotel life during the Belle Epoque and the Années folles.

Often in a hurry, we simply pass by these familiar buildings in the heart of Chamonix: the Hôtel de Ville, the Terminus, the Balances, the Astoria, the Métropole, the Victoria, the Résidence, the Carlton, the Casino, the Savoy, the Résidence, the Majestic... And so many others... All former hotels or palaces that have known their hours of glory. But what do we know of their history? Were they once called that? Who built them? When were they built?
They all bear witness to the past life of this valley.
This walk gives you the opportunity to get to know the families who gave Chamonix its rich and varied architecture, which today gives the town that special soul felt by everyone, Chamonix residents and visitors alike...
