Fishing in the Arve river

in Argentière
Presentation

The course is located on the territory of the commune of Chamonix. Its limits are the railway bridge at Les Tines downstream, and the road bridge at Argentière upstream.

It is a recreational course set up by the APPMA of Faucigny in collaboration with the town hall of Chamonix, poisoned with rainbow trout and subject to specific regulations.

The sector, isolated from the rest of the Arve, downstream, by the dam of Les Houches, was until now not very fishy and does not host a functional population of fario trout: the goal is therefore to create a fishing course, intended for beginners as well as for experienced fishermen and allowing to develop the fishing leisure on this sector. It will be an excellent complement to the various lakes of plain and mountain located in the vicinity, as well as to the Black Water of Vallorcine very close and populated with wild fish.

Regulations: Only one trout of 25cm minimum per fisherman and per day
Types of fishing: All techniques, with a simple hook without barb
Fish population: Rainbow trout, Fario trout
