A walk to Château Saint Michel

in Servoz
Presentation

Ruins of a castle dating from around 1300 that belonged to Béatrix de Savoie, dame de Faucigny.

From Servoz, reach the entrance to the village of Le Lac, near the Chapelle Notre-Dame du Lac (visit): a path leads up the left bank of the Arve to a rocky, wooded promontory. The ruins occupy the highest part (871 m): only the tower and a wall set in the greenery remain. The path continues through the woods:
- left to the Pélissier bridge, which you cross to take the Servoz bypass road, which passes the rock-climbing school and the chalet.
You then reach the village of Le Lac, then Servoz along the SNCF track.
