La science en fête en Vallée de Chamonix !
We invite you to explore "Le vivant dans tous ses états", with a focus on the richness of biodiversity in mountain environments.
Mountains, often perceived as wild and isolated places, are in fact priceless reservoirs of life. From the peaks to the valleys, each ecosystem is home to unique species, perfectly adapted to extreme conditions.
In these majestic yet hostile territories, biodiversity flourishes in surprising forms: endemic plants, animals adapted to extreme climatic variations, river and stream dwellers, insects, birds and rare predators. Each altitude level offers different living conditions, creating a mosaic of interconnected ecosystems. Today, however, this natural wealth is under pressure. Mountains, once preserved by their inaccessibility, are suffering the increasing effects of climate change and the pressure generated by human activities.
Faced with these challenges, how can we preserve this fragile balance? What is at stake for the species that depend on these specific environments? We invite you to plunge into the heart of the mountains to discover not only the beauty and diversity of life, but also the solutions that science and local players are devising to protect these environments that are essential to our planet.
The program is free and open to all!
