Around the Chamonix valley

Among the iconic sites arethe Aiguille du Midi, Montenvers–Mer de Glace, and the panoramic views accessible from Brévent-Flégère, Bellevue, Prarion, and the Balme area. Exploring the valley also means discovering its villages—from Servoz to Vallorcine—as well as its natural areas and cultural heritage.

The valley offers a particularly wide variety of activities: hiking, trail running, mountain biking, rock climbing, mountaineering, paragliding, whitewater sports, skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. You can also enjoycultural activities, guided tours, recreational facilities, spas, and many experiences to share with your family.

There are many family-friendly activities: easy hikes, recreational areas, tree-top adventure courses, sledding, ice skating, tours, opportunities to learn about mountain animals, and supervised sports activities. The options vary depending on the season and the children’s ages.

A rainy day can be a great opportunity to explore museums and exhibitions, enjoy an indoor activity, take a dip in the sports center’s pool or relax in a wellness area, or discover the valley’s shops and hidden gems. Some outdoor activities are also available, depending on the weather.

There are many walks, village tours, strolls through shopping streets, visits to natural sites, and hiking trails that are freely accessible. The activities and events organized in the various villages also regularly offer free activities. However, some hikes require the use of a paid ski lift to reach their starting point.
